Aminah “Mintah Tumbao” Jackson is a multi-genre dance artist, cultural educator, transformational coach, Usui Holy Fire® Reiki Master, energy healer, diviner, and spiritual wellness practitioner devoted to embodied liberation.
An African American and Haitian-Mexican American artist, Aminah was born in Los Angeles and raised between Los Angeles and Tucson, Arizona.
Her work brings movement, culture, spirituality and community care into conversation.
She approaches identity not as a fixed category, but as a living practice of remembering, learning, moving and becoming.
Her work is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: the body holds intelligence, memory and possibility.

A LIFE IN
MOVEMENT.
Aminah's path has moved through professional dance, higher education, international service, community organizing, social-justice performance, transformational coaching and spiritual wellness. Each chapter expanded her understanding of what movement can make possible.
Los Angeles → Tucson
Born in Los Angeles and raised between Los Angeles and Tucson, Aminah’s early life gave her a layered relationship with identity, culture, movement, and belonging.
Howard University
Aminah earned a B.A. in African Studies with a minor in Spanish from Howard University, where academic study and dance became essential parts of the foundation for her later work.
A Life in Dance
Aminah’s formal training includes the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, The Ailey School Summer Program, and Howard University. She was also twice a dance intern and student with Ronald K. Brown’s EVIDENCE Dance Company in Brooklyn. Her foundation spans ballet, jazz, tap, Hip-Hop, musical theatre, Flamenco, Modern techniques, traditional West African dance, Afro-Cuban Rumba, Afro-Latin social dance, and more.
The Dominican Republic
Aminah served as an Education Volunteer with the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic. During her service, a serious pedestrian accident resulted in medical evacuation and surgeries in both the Dominican Republic and Los Angeles—an experience that deepened her relationship with resilience, healing, and the intelligence of the body.
Community Organizing
After returning to Los Angeles and completing her recovery, Aminah worked with Community Coalition in South Los Angeles, organizing alongside Black and Brown communities toward civic participation, storytelling, and collective possibility. She created the organization’s Artivism department, using art as a vehicle for community voice, social engagement, and shared imagination.
Art, Justice + Movement
Aminah’s commitment to movement as a tool for social change continued through CONTRA-TIEMPO, an urban Latin dance company with which she toured social-justice dance works across the United States and Bulgaria. This chapter affirmed that dance can carry memory, resistance, imagination, and a call toward a more liberated future.
Transformation
After her organizing and touring work, Aminah was searching for a deeper sense of purpose and a kind of healing that art alone had not fully provided. She completed the Basic Training, Advanced Training, and Legacy Program through Mastery in Transformational Training, beginning her formal path in transformational coaching and leadership development.
Creating LITFIT
Aminah created LITFIT World Dance Fitness to make global and diasporic dance forms accessible through high-energy, community-centered movement. She taught at UFC Gym and boutique studios across Los Angeles while continuing to build a body of work grounded in dance, education, culture, and joy.
Cuba + Puerto Rico
Cuba and Puerto Rico became major turning points in Aminah’s artistic, cultural, and spiritual journey. Through continued study of Afro-Latin movement—especially Afro-Cuban traditions, salsa, and social dance—and years of relationship-building, learning, retreat facilitation, and cultural immersion in Puerto Rico, she moved more deeply toward the Afro-diasporic forms that now inform her work. These experiences clarified her commitment to movement not only as performance or fitness, but as a living practice of embodiment, ancestral connection, liberation, and collective joy.

Aminah is a comprehensively trained, multi-genre dance artist.
Her foundation includes ballet, jazz, tap, Hip-Hop, musical theatre, Flamenco, Mexican Folklórico, traditional West African dance, Haitian dance, Afro-Latin social dance, Salsa, Afro-Cuban Rumba, Cuban Casino and Yoruba/Orisha traditions.
Her technical foundation also includes Horton, Dunham and Graham techniques.
Rather than being limited to one movement vocabulary, Aminah draws from her full artistic foundation while intentionally centering Afro-diasporic traditional and social dance forms and Afro-Latin movement.

Aminah's work with Community Coalition strengthened her belief that art can be a vehicle for civic participation, storytelling and collective possibility.
Her time with CONTRA-TIEMPO deepened that understanding. Through social-justice dance works, she toured nationally and internationally, carrying movement as memory, resistance, imagination and a call toward a more liberated future.
Movement is never only movement.
THE BODY
REMEMBERS.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Aminah returned with greater intention to holistic and alternative wellness practices that had long called to her.
She deepened her study of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), meditation, transformative journaling, mirror work, energy healing and embodiment practices.
Today, these tools exist alongside her dance practice rather than separate from it.
FROM DANCE
TO THE SACRED.
Raised within Catholic and Christian traditions, Aminah's spiritual journey opened in a new way through Afro-Cuban dance.
Encountering movement forms connected to African-diasporic cosmologies invited a deeper curiosity about spiritual traditions that have traveled, adapted and endured across the diaspora.
For more than a decade, Aminah has been a student and practitioner of African Traditional Religions and African-diasporic spiritual traditions, including Isese/Ifá, Lucumí and Hoodoo.
Through ancestor veneration, intuitive-development training, the Silva Method and Burt Goldman's Quantum Jump meditation method, she cultivated intuitive, divinatory and channeling abilities.
OSUN-OLOGY.
Aminah's original OSUN-OLOGY framework became the foundation of her first year in business. It explores embodiment, presence, spiritual wellness, sensuality and the many dimensions of feminine power through the energy and symbolism of Osun.

As a Usui Holy Fire® Reiki Master, she offers private Energy Reading & Healing Sessions, spiritual readings, Afro-diasporic embodiment coaching, group programs, workshops, retreats and cultural gatherings.
With client consent, her energy sessions may incorporate ancestral and spirit-guide connection alongside Usui Holy Fire® Reiki-informed energy healing, personalized notes and practical integration steps.
Her work is especially grounded in honoring the lives, wellness, pleasure and liberation of Black and Brown women, while welcoming people of all genders who approach the work with respect and a genuine desire to reconnect with themselves.
